The Newbury Park Wrestling Scholarship Program began in 2004. Since its inception, the program has awarded scholarships to deserving wrestlers. In 2022, the scholarship was named in honor of the Young Family for their longtime support fot the NPHS Wrestling Program.

The Young Family Scholarship Criteria (Seniors).

1. Minimu GPA 2.5
2. Must have wrestled at least two (2) years at NPHS.
3. Must have wresteled your senior year.
4. Must be attending one of the following post high school: college, trade school, or the Armed Forces.
5. Must submit official copy of transcripts (PDF) at time of application (plan ahead!).

The application will become available mid to late January of each academic year.

February 14th

Applicants will be judged on the following criteria:

• Content of the application.
• Punctuation and grammar.

Recipients will be notified at the Wrestling Booster Hosted end-of-the year banquate. Students are encouraged to attend, but failure to attend is not required to receive the scholarship.

The NPHS Wrestling Booster Club reserves the right to: (a) reject any applicant that fails to meat the submission deadline; (b) annually determine the number of receipents (application alone is not grounds for award), (c) annually determine the scholarship award, and (d) annually determine availability to offer the scholarship (the scholarship is not a guarantee or requirment of the booster club).
